The Center on Media and Child Health at Children's Hospital Boston has created a database of research findings and chose violence as the first topic they would make available free to parents, clinicians and researchers who want to know what peer-reviewed studies can tell them. They can ask a question, read a summary in lay language or search 700 research articles to find answers. "Our goal was to gather all of the studies in a single location and present them in a standardized form to create the first interdisciplinary library of research on media effects," Brandy King, librarian for CMCH, said in a statement from Children's.
