TUESDAY, FEB. 20
Scott Kraus and Rosalind Rolland of the New England Aquarium will talk about their new book, "The Urban Whale," which details threats to the right whale, and documents a quarter-century of research into the endangered creatures. WEDNESDAY, FEB. 21
The next Soap Box event at the MIT Museum will feature Boston University Professor Richard Primack and graduate student Abe Miller-Rushing, who will talk about the 'citizen science' initiative -- public efforts to gather climate change data in Eastern Massachusetts. At 6 p.m. at the MIT Museum, 265 Massachusetts Avenue, in Cambridge. Call 617-253-4444.

The Cambridge Forum is sponsoring a talk by science journalist Seth Shulman about the Bush administration's mis-use of science. At 7:30 p.m. at First Parish Church, 3 Church Street in Cambridge. Call 617-495-2727.

Tom and Doris Smeltzer, whose daughter, Andrea, died of bulimia at age 19, tell their story, and offer advice to others affected by eating disorders. At 5:30 p.m. in Hogan Jenks Suites B/C at the College of the Holy Cross in Worcester. Call 508-793-2419.

A 6 p.m. lecture will address the Uluburun Shipwreck, which was found off the coast of Turkey, and which contains one of the richest and largest known assemblages of Late Bronze Age items, including a seal bearing the name of Egyptian Queen Nefertiti. Bald eagles have made a near-miraculous recovery in Maine. Charlie Todd, a wildlife biologist with the state of Maine will talk about that comeback at 7 p.m. at the MERI Center for Marine Studies, 55 Main Street, in Blue Hill. Call 207-374-2135.

Dr. Barry Buckland, a creator of the new HPV vaccine, Gardasil, will talk about the vaccine and its socio-political ramifications. At 5 p.m. in the Salomon Center for Teaching, Room 001, at Brown University.
