« Latest count on norovirus outbreak | Main | In case you missed it: new norovirus strain » Friday, March 9, 2007State health policy official resigningBy Liz Kowalczyk, Globe Staff Amy Lischko says she is stepping down as commissioner of the state Division of Health Care Finance and Policy, because she has been told she will be replaced by the administration of Governor Deval Patrick. Lischko, who has worked for the state on health care issues for 16 years, oversaw former Governor Mitt Romney's initiative to make the cost and quality of health care more transparent for consumers. Lischko tangled with doctors and hospitals over the program, under which she and her staff have posted on the state website information about the cost of various procedures at individual hospitals, and how frequently individual doctors perform certain surgeries.
