Four easy pieces
Most college dorms haven't changed much over the years. But dorm room design sure has. Gone are the old trunks and clunky storage crates. Now storage boxes are sophisticated, available in a rainbow of colors, and busy graphic prints, with zippers to keep things neat. Alarm clocks have wheels, so sleepy students can only hit the snooze button once before the clock rolls away. And iPod speaker systems are a must, of course, as is anything made of recycled material, including picture frames, bulletin boards, and artwork. With space limited, foldable chairs are a smart choice -- especially in extra-padded microsuede. And for the late-night party, a night-light featuring a skull and crossbones is a nice touch, especially for you secret-society types. -- SUZANNE RYAN ![]()
