Hundreds of people passed through the Wellesley design home in September and October, and most -- at least according to guides in the house -- muttered something about wanting to live in the 10,000-square-foot showplace. Now comes the time to separate the gawkers from the spenders. The six bedroom, seven bath, two half-bath home, located on a 52,000 square-foot lot, is currently on the market for $6 million. The shingle-style house, built by Peter Fallon, features amenities such as an au pair suite, a climate-controlled wine cellar, mahogany porches, quarter sawn oak floors in the kitchen, and a putting green in the lower level . The furnishings have since been removed, but because this was a design home, an exhaustive list of every stick of furniture is available for the buyer who wants to recreate the look of the house. Sadly, the furniture, paintings, and accessories are not included in the $6 million price tag.
