Coach clothing line a let down

I'll announce it now: I'm a Coach fanatic. I love the bags, love the wallets, keyrings, briefcases. It's all good. If I see a Coach shopping bag under the Christmas tree... well, you get the idea.

Anyway, with that spirit in mind, I have to slam the company's small women's clothing line. It has fallen totally flat.

The styles are so blah. And out of season too. They're pushing a cashmere long-sleeve t-shirt. For $298.

They have two signature bikinis ($198) and two short-sleeved polo shirts ($298). Do the math on a summer wardrobe here. Yikes.

Anyway, I want to encourage Reed Krakoff, the creative director, to try again.. You have come so far (remember those plain '80s bags?)

I know you can do better.
