My real name is Mark Godes, but you may just call me Bobby. At the tender age of 12 years old, I began writing under the pen name of "Bobby Simpson," in a Boston Herald column called "Dear Bobby Simpson." I felt there was a need for a teen oriented advice column written from the perspective of an adolescent. Within very short order, "Dear Bobby Simpson" became immensely popular with readers of all ages. A collection of my columns was picked up by the publishers at Random House, resulting in a book featuring some of my best columns. The book, called "Dear Bobby Simpson," led to a coast-to-coast publicity tour. Additionally, it gave me the opportunity to appear on numerous national television programs and my profile appeared in publications ranging from People and US Weekly to the Los Angeles Times, the Dallas Morning News, the San Francisco Chronicle and the New York Daily News.

Shortly before going on to college and after spending most of my teen years writing a weekly advice column, I decided to move on to other pursuits. It was then I decided to returned to every day life as Mark Godes and ended (or at least I thought at the time) the "Dear Bobby Simpson" column. Following college, I spent the last several years working in the financial-services industry. Upon learning of the death of Ann Landers a couple of years ago, however, I saw a need to bring "Bobby Simpson" out of retirement (with the help of Boston.com). I hope that my advice can give you some perspective (at least from an adult male's point of view) on any and all relationship issues. No, I’m not a psychologist, but I believe I can offer you a unique perspective and thoughtful good advice on your relationship troubles.

You only have to ask via the form on my blog.

Thanks and I look forward to hearing from you.
