Individuality is the key to prom looks this year. There is no must-have color or style. Celebs like Beyonce have certainly inspired sophisticated and revealing red-carpet looks, but more youthful tulle skirts with delicate flowers and bows are also en vogue.

As for length, go short or long, but skip the little black dress. Color is everywhere now, especially sky blue and soft yellow. And while neon orange and green fabrics may shock, nothing is as eye-catching as the season's semi-sheer bodices and audaciously low backlines.
