Rose Kennedy Greenway history, recent changes
The Rose Fitzgerald Kennedy Greenway is a stark contrast to what it once was. It lies on land that once was the Central Artery highway. Neighborhoods were demolished for the interstate that cut off Boston from its waterfront. Decades later, the Big Dig buried Interstate 93 underground, and the 1.5 miles of elevated roadway was demolished, opening up parks for residents and tourists to gather.
Take a look at the Greenway's evolution and recent developments.
