‘The Firm,’ 1993

Tom Cruise, right, plays a hotshot young lawyer in this John Grisham adaptation, in which he’s headhunted by a sinister law firm right out of school. The filmmakers used establishing shots of Harvard taken from off-campus locations, as well as interiors in East Cambridge and the Copley Plaza Hotel.

Pictured at left is Gene Hackman, who plays Cruise’s mentor at the firm.
