After months of debate, Concord residents voted to ban the sale of single-serving plastic water bottles.
That ban was popular among readers, who agreed that single-use bottles were bad for the environment.
Don of Wilmington suggested that instead of banning water bottles, town should give people incentives to avoid them.
“Why doesn’t some young entrepreneur invent a small water filtering vending machine that can fill up a single bottle?” he said. “Just like the huge ones where you can only buy at least a gallon, people would have to bring their old empty bottles to refill, but they’d get the water for half price.”
