Wheelock College

Wheelock College will feature three children and family advocates at its commencement on May 17, which is themed “125 Years of Commitment to Children and Families.”

Mark Shriver (left,) who runs Save the Children’s US programs, will deliver the undergraduate address.

Hubert “Hubie” Jones (right,) will speak at the graduate ceremony. Jones has helped establish or led more than 30 community-based organizations in greater Boston, including the Boston Children’s Chorus.

Thekla R. Shackelford, the founder and chairwoman of board of directors of the “I Know I Can” college access program, will also be honored during the graduation.

Shriver, Jones, and Shackelford will receive honorary degrees from Wheelock.
