Stanford University School of Education Dean Claude Steele is the featured speaker at Tufts University’s graduation exercises on May 19.
Steele, a psychologist, is best known for his research on how stereotypes influence group performance, according to a Tufts news release.
“We are honored that he will give this year’s commencement address,” Kim Thurler, director of public relations at the university, told the Tufts Daily. “We are sure that he will deliver remarks that will be relevant and meaningful for the Class of 2013, their families and the greater Tufts community.”
The commencement will take place on the academic quad of Tufts’ Medford/Somerville campus at 9 a.m.
