SKI CLUB FOR GREATER BOSTON SENIORS: HICKORY DICKORY DOCS
The Hickory Dickory Docs Ski Club has been gathering for more than 50 years. It started when a group of North Boston doctors needed a break from medicine, but now the group includes people from a range of professions and walks of life.
Pictured: Marty Nellhaus, 87, of Swampscott, is the oldest member of the club. The retired GE quality control engineer plays tennis, rides a bike, and hikes when ski season gives way to warmer weather.

Frank Morse (left), 72, of Swampscott, is a surgeon who joined the Hickory Dickory Docs Ski Club eight years ago when he retired. He first started skiing with the group as a guest of Dr. Richard Culliton (right), 77, also of Swampscott. "It's a nice way to ski without the stress," said Morse.
The Hickory Dickory Docs Ski Club boarded the bus on Loon Mountain at the end of a good day of skiing last month.
Nothing is exact when it comes to the Hickory Dickory Docs. Depending on whom you ask, it started in the late 1950s or early ’60s; women were allowed to join sometime in the late ’90s; and there are about 25 members today.
“It’s not just a ski club. It’s a family," said Don Adelman, a long-time member.
