Local cable celebrates 25 years
Residents are invited to help Burlington Cable Access Television mark its 25th anniversary and annual volunteer appreciation night from 6 to 8 p.m. on May 2 at its studios, 123 Cambridge St. About 100 local residents contribute their time to produce and host shows and to assist with production at the facility. At the free event, the station will provide special awards to volunteers in various categories ranging from excellence in producing to “enthusiastic newcomer.’’ The event will also include food donated by local restaurants and a red carpet hour, in which access TV board member Arlene DiRocco interviews attendees as they enter. The interviews and other portions of the evening will be taped for later airing. All attendees also will receive a door prize. In honor of the anniversary, the nonprofit will be unveiling a new logo, which will adorn a birthday cake.
