Past, future of Christian Science Plaza

The Boston Redevelopment Authority board voted Tuesday to approve rezoning the Christian Science Church plaza, making way for the church's plans to revitalize its world headquarters with three new buildings, upgrades, and a new pavilion.
In March, the city of Boston has designated the plaza a historic landmark, giving it special protections from future development, including changes to its most famous feature -- a 686-foot-long reflecting pool.
