Despite tech boom, libraries thrive

Following a nationwide trend, libraries all over the north region are decrying that they're taking the brunt of the town budget cuts, and are cutting hours and slashing budgets as a result. Focusing on solution, many libraries are doing wild new activities to attract kids, like cooking or anime and manga events. No longer just a place for reading and whispering, libraries are now vibrant cultural and community centers. Abby Porter is the young adult librarian at the Abbot Public Library in Marblehead. She host a Manga & Anime club once a month. The kids in the club made sushi candy and origami.
