The former mayor of Boston is credited with remaking the city's skyline, launching the careers of dozens of the city's brightest politicians, and for overseeing the reconstruction of Quincy Market into the Faneuil Hall Marketplace.
A statue in honor of Kevin Hagan White was placed in front of Faneuil Hall in 2006, where it has become a place for mourners to mark his recent passing with flowers.
