Gay EMT alleges harassment
John Georges said when he applied to become a domestic violence counselor with Boston EMS he was denied because officials wanted the unit to be made up only of straight women; following his complaint he alleges there was retaliation. Now, his lawsuit against the Boston Public Health Commission, which runs the Emergency Medical Services division, is slated to go to trial in April. He is seeking an unspecified amount in emotional and punitive damages.
