Northeastern rolls over No. 11 Michigan
Cody Ferriero scored two goals, including the winner, as the Huskies stunned No. 11 Michigan, 4-1, last night in Ann Arbor, Mich.
The Wolverines, which fell from the No. 1 ranking Oct. 17, had not won in its previous four outings and were swept at home last weekend by Ohio State. The Huskies were returning to Ann Arbor for the first time in more than five years.
Northeastern’s Steve Quailer and Braden Pimm each added a goal and two assists. Travis Lynch scored for the Wolverines in the first period.
The Huskies improved to 4-7-2, while the Wolverines fell to 7-6-2.
Harvard 3, Dartmouth 3 - Luke Greiner scored a power-play goal with 4:16 to play and Steve Michalek made 23 saves as the Crimson (3-3-2, 2-3-2 ECAC) salvaged a tie with the Big Green (4-4-1, 3-3-1) in Hanover, N.H.
Mike Seward’s first collegiate goal gave Harvard the lead at the seven-minute mark of the first period. Alex Fallstrom scored in the second period for the Crimson.
Doug Jones and Tyler Sikura scored for Dartmouth.
UMass-Lowell 3, Alabama-Huntsville 0 - Goaltender Doug Carr posted his second straight shutout as the host River Hawks beat the winless Chargers. Josh Holmstrom and Derek Arnold scored power-play goals in the first and and second periods, respectively, and Scott Wilson added another goal in the third to drop Alabama-Huntsville to 0-13-1. UMass-Lowell is 7-4-0.
Colgate 4, Vermont 1 - Connor Brickley scored midway through the first period but it was all Raiders (9-4-1) after that in a win over the host Catamounts (2-8-1).
Miami (Ohio) 6, Providence 2 - Alden Hirschfeld had two goals to help the RedHawks drop the Friars in the first game of the Denver Cup Classic. Miami (7-6-2) also got two goals from Blake Coleman while David Brown and Derek Army scored for Providence (6-5-1).
Air Force 3, UConn 1 - Sean Ambrosie scored a power-play goal, but the Huskies (4-6-3, 3-3-1 Atlantic Hockey) fell to the host Falcons (6-4-2, 5-2-1).
BC 6, Princeton 1 - Taylor Wasylk had two goals in the first period and Dru Burns had a goal and three assists as the No. 4 Eagles ripped the Tigers at Conte Forum.
The Eagles (9-4-1) also got goals from Jackie Young, Emily Field, and Blake Bolden.
Quinnipiac 4, UConn 2 - Erica Uden Johansson scored the winning goal with 5:31 left in regulation as the Bobcats dropped the Huskies in the first round of the Nutmeg Classic in Storrs, Conn.
Maine 3, UNH 0 - Brittany Dougherty had a goal and an assist to lift the Black Bears over the Wildcats in Durham, N.H. Myriam Croussette and Tori Pasquariello also scored for Maine (9-5-4, 4-3-1 Hockey East). The Wildcats fell to 4-9-2 and 0-5-1.
