Famous figures from Roxbury

DJ Guru Before he became a rap legend, DJ Guru was known as Keith Elam, the son of a judge and librarian in Roxbury. He went to local schools at Noble & Greenough and Cohasset High. DJ Guru was the MC of the rap duo Gang Starr. He quickly became one of the most influential rappers of his time. He died of cancer last year at age 47.
