Torrential downpours that temporarily turned Braintree/Weymouth landing into a shallow river on Tuesday morning only slightly postponed the festivities for a ribbon cutting ceremony, where town and state representatives came together to mark the completion of construction on infrastructure and aesthetics in the area. Construction was made possible by a $2.4 million Public Works Economic Development grant given to Braintree and Weymouth in 2009 by the state.
