Hamilton Co., a Boston real estate company, said it has purchased Dexter Park, a Brookline apartment complex, for $129.5 million.

With 409 apartments, Dexter Park is a nine-story building set on 4 acres.

It was built in 1974 on the former playing fields of the Dexter School, according to the Hamilton Co., which bought the property from UBS Financial.

The deal was made with a Hamilton affiliate, New England Realty Associates.

Hamilton Co.’s chairman is Harold Brown, a longtime landlord in Greater Boston.
