Conan O'Brien
The late-night comedian was born and raised in Brookline, the third of six children. He was the valedictorian of his 1981 high school class. He was also the high school newspaper editor and debate co-captain. "I can return to Brookline to remember who I was and then leave and quickly try to forget," he said.
"I think I learned a lot. There's a lot of cultural diversity [in Brookline]. There's not just upper class people, but there's middle upper class people. Fairly affluent people learning how to get along with affluent people. It's a nice mix," he joked.
"It was a gritty place when I was growing up. It's not the Brookline you know today. It was very, very different. I think there were three less baguette shops. "
