Learn all about e-reading at library
The Burlington Public Library is holding a four-day e-book and digital audiobook open house next week. Librarians will demonstrate the free downloading of e-books from the library’s website to e-book readers, including the Apple iPad, the Amazon Kindle, the Barnes & Noble Nook, and the Sony Reader. They will also demonstrate the free downloading of audio books to an MP3 player or an iPod. The open house will be held from 3:30-5 p.m. Monday; 6:30-8 p.m. Tuesday; 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Wednesday; and 2-3:30 p.m. next Thursday. No preregistration is required for the free presentations. In addition, the Friends of the Burlington Public Library is offering new or renewing members who sign up by Jan. 9 a chance to win a $100 gift card to the Chateau restaurant, which will be opening on the site of the old Bugaboo Creek on the Middlesex Turnpike, and two tickets to any production next year by the Burlington Players, which performs at the Park Playhouse on Edgemere Avenue. - John Laidler![]()
