David Lovering
He was the last member of 'The Pixies,' brought in by friend Kim Deal who answered an ad for a bass player at The Phoenix posted by UMass-Amherst dropouts Charles Thompson and Joey Santiago.
Lovering grew up in Burlington and studied electronic engineering at the Wentworth Institute of Technology.
He learned how to play the drums in Burlington, where he was a member of the marching band at Burlington High School.
The band reunited in 2004 for a tour called 'The Pixies Sell Out.'
