Gregory Maguire It began with 1995's 'Wicked: The Life and Times of the Wicked Witch of the West,' a monster seller that became a smash musical. Maquire wrote the entire <a href='http://www.boston.com/ae/books/articles/2008/11/14/wicked_fun_in_oz/ '>four-book series 'The Wicked Years.' Maguire is an active figure in children's literature education, the recipient of numerous awards and fellowships, and a resident of Concord. He also has a Ph.D. in English and American Literature from Tufts University
