Man struck, killed crossing Danvers street

DANVERS, Mass.—Police say a man has died after being struck by a pickup truck while trying to cross a busy Danvers street.
The man was struck trying to cross Route 114 at about 8:30 p.m. on Wednesday. He was taken to a hospital where he was pronounced dead.
The victim's name was not immediately made public, but police say he is a man in his mid-40s.
The driver of the pickup stopped and was described as visibly shaken. The accident remains under investigation and no charges have been filed.
Witnesses tell The Salem News (http://bit.ly/wMZuJy) that the victim was thrown 20 to 25 yards after being struck.
