Watertown put the Metrowest region on the map this year, when alleged Boston Marathon bomber was found hiding in a boat in the backyard of a Franklin Street home.

But it was also a year of love and unity, when hospital staff rallied together to make sure a couple could say their vows before the groom’s grandfather passed away. We saw pictures of murder victim Lauren Astley’s father hugging Tomo Fujita and Beth Mattingly-Fujita after their son was found guilty of the murder.
