A plaque sits on Salem Street in Medford in memory of the victim known as "The Black Dahlia."
She moved to Hollywood to pursue an acting career after graduating from Medford High School.
In 1947, the 22-year old unemployed cashier and waitress' severed body was discovered in a vacant lot in Lost Angeles. Her body was mutilated, with a deep laceration on the face 3 inches on either side of the edges of her mouth.
It is one of the country's most disturbing unsolved mysteries.
