Natick works to make town buildings greener
While cars often shoulder the blame for releasing greenhouse gas pollutants into the atmosphere, buildings get off pretty easy. But buildings account for half of US carbon dioxide emissions -- and Natick’s town buildings are culprits as well.

A change for Kaprielian
Squeaky-voiced meteorologist Al Kaprielian, a fixture on Derry television for 26 years, lost his job because of staff cutbacks at the station. Kaprielian, a native of Natick, said he hopes to catch on with another local station. Boston Globe, 12/28/09
Foreclosures on decline
The number of foreclosures in a range of Massachusetts communities dropped in the first 10 months of this year, with Natick's figure falling by more than half compared with the same period in 2008. Other area towns showing the improvement include Framingham, Dedham and Boston, while Newton saw its number go from nine to 16. Boston Globe, 12/24/09

Videotaping a year in the life of their teddy bear
Two Natick youths, Zev and Aliza Hoover, have embarked on a "365 project" on flickr.com, taking a picture every day of Snugglepup the stuffed animal in various poses and locations. Zev's photos and Aliza's text for their video have drawn fans around the world. Natick Navigator
Committee has $7m for open space projects

Local teen's charity
wins national prize
Natick teen Max Wallack, recently named a Build-A-Bear Huggable Hero for his Puzzles to Remember project, delivered the $2,500 charitable donation included in his grand prize to the Boston University School of Medicine's Alzheimer's disease program. BU School of Medicine
