For Catholic priest, a call to create art

John Frederick Arens is a cutting-edge artist whose new series of paintings is inspired by ancient cave art. However, many are surprised to learn that the Needham-based artist is also a Catholic priest who teaches religion at St. Sebastian’s School in Needham. Arens sits with one of his paintings in his Allston studio.
