The following was submitted by the City of Malden:

As of this evening, Tuesday, December 17th at 7:00PM, we will be declaring a snow emergency. After the snow emergency goes into effect at 7:00PM tonight, winter parking rules will be strictly enforced until the snow emergency is lifted at 5AM tomorrow morning, Wednesday December 18th. To avoid getting a ticket or being towed on streets with restrictions, you must seek off-street parking until the snow emergency has been lifted at 5AM tomorrow morning.

To help our residents, we will be opening up 7 locations for you to park free of charge from 7:00PM until the snow emergency is lifted at 5:00AM tomorrow, Wednesday December 18th. These locations are the Early Learning Center, Beebe, Forestdale, Ferryway, Linden and Salemwood Schools and downtown at the CBD Parking Garage located at 170 Center Street. Again, vehicles can park at these locations free of charge but must be removed by 5:00AM tomorrow, Wednesday December 18th or vehicles will be towed from these lots.

Lastly, please remember that city ordinance requires homeowners to clear the sidewalk in front of their property within 24 hours of the conclusion of the storm, so please make sure you have cleared at least a 3 foot path on the sidewalk in front of your property within 24 hours of the storm's conclusion.

We will keep you up to date on our Winter Weather Central page on our website at www.cityofmalden.org
