Cambridge Savings Bank (CSB) recently sponsored and presented a Citizens Housing and Planning Association’s (CHAPA) certified First Time Home BuyersSeminar, which was hosted by Somerville Community Corporation (SCC). About 30 attendees learned the ins-and-outs of working with lenders to confidently complete the home mortgage part of purchasing a home.
“First-time buyers need to understand the complex mortgage process before they buy a home,” said Joseph S. Boynton, the Bank’s Vice President and Residential Mortgage Origination Manager, wholed a presentation on the mortgage process.
“It is incredibly important for organizations like the Somerville Community Corporation to have committed partners like Cambridge Savings Bank,”saidThais DeMarco, an SCC Program Coordinator. “Without local support, SCC simply wouldn’t be able to have as many programs and services that bring financial knowledge and tools to Somerville residents.”
Since 2010, Cambridge Savings Bank has conducted more than 600 CSBsmart sessions for more than 9,000 students, adults, and seniors in Eastern Massachusetts.
