Horde of high school students ejected from Green Line train after prank
More than 100 area high school students were kicked off two separate Green Line trains in Allston this afternoon after pranksters pulled the emergency brakes, according to officials.
MBTA Transit Police Lieutenant Michael Shea will visit Brighton High School on Thursday, where the majority of the booted individuals are believed to be from, to speak with school administrators about the incidents, MBTA spokesman Joe Pesaturo said. Such pranks have “happened in the past, but not often,” he said.
“Of course, none of the students would identify those responsible for the immature and foolish behavior,'' he said in an e-mail. "So Transit Police did the only thing they could do: they ejected more than 100 students from two trains.”
The incidents occurred near the Boston University West street stop on two B-Line trains headed inbound, and delayed each train for about 10 minutes, Pesaturo said.
“On a typical weekday, it's not unusual for hundreds of Brighton High students to board the Green Line at the Warren Street stop on Comm. Ave.,” he added.
Those responsible were not indentified, but now the students “need to find another way to get home,” Pesaturo said.
