Lone Star, the new sister bar of its popular neighbor Deep Ellum in Allston's Union Square, will begin serving up tacos and tequilas tonight.
The owners of Deep Ellum announced last night on their website and Facebook page that their latest venture, Lone Star, will open today at 5:30 p.m. The news confirmed yesterday's report by the Grub Street Boston blog.
Deep Ellum, which turned five years old Jan. 4 and was named to Draft magazine's lists of top 100 bars earlier this month, is open Monday through Friday from 11 a.m. to 1 a.m. and on Saturday and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 1 a.m.
The two bars are side-by-side along Cambridge Street near where that roadway meets with Brighton Avenue and North Beacon Street. An interior connecting door is for staff use only, according to the Facebook page.
Lone Star will take over some of the space that formerly housed Peruvian restaurant El Cafetal/El Chalan.
