Presto Pizzeria, a popular restaurant located in Cleveland Circle for about 30 years, has closed, according to the property’s landlord.

The restaurant at 1936 Beacon St. shut down in May and a sign was posted on the storefront thanking its former customers.

State land records show the business was established in 1982 and run by Salvatore and Diane D'Artista, who could not be reached for comment this week.

The restaurant was a rival of Pino’s Pizza, which is located several storefronts away and celebrates its 50th anniversary this year.

Both pizza spots have been frequented especially by the area’s student population, especially those attending nearby Boston College.

The commercial space in Brighton near the Boston neighborhood’s border with Brookline remains available to rent.

The closure of Presto was reported previously by the BC Interruption blog and the Boston Restaurant Talk blog.
