For the third time in two weeks, an armed robbery was reported in Brookline near Boston University’s campus, authorities said.

The latest incident was the second to occur in broad daylight, according to Brookline Police.

In each of the three cases, current BU students or recent graduates of the university have reported being robbed, according to the university’s news website BU Today.

The alleged robbers in each case have been described as black males who appeared to be between 16 and 24 years old and were wearing sweatshirts, police said.

No injuries have been reported. No arrests have been announced.

Campus and Brookline Police stepped up patrols after the first two reported robberies. The two departments issued alerts to the campus and surrounding communities after each incident.

After the second reported robbery, police said they had not determined whether the crimes might be connected. Officers were not immediately available to comment this week.

On Friday, Oct. 5, shortly after 5 p.m., a recent college graduate reported that three teenaged black males robbed him when one of them showed a handgun near the intersection of St. Paul and Thatcher streets, according to the Brookline Police blog. The trio later ran toward Commonwealth Avenue.

An iPhone, a wallet, and keys were stolen from the recent BU graduate, according to BU Today.

On Sept. 25, about one block from where the latest robbery occurred, officers responded to Egmont and St. Paul streets shortly after 5 p.m. when three males reported being robbed at gunpoint while walking home from Commonwealth Avenue, a Brookline police report said.

Three other males followed the students before one walked in front of them, pulled out and cocked a black semiautomatic handgun, placed the gun against the stomach of one of the students, the report said.

Cash, cellphones, and a laptop were taken in the robbery, police said.

On Sept. 23 at about 3 a.m., a male and female reported being robbed at gunpoint near an alley that runs between Thorndike and Fuller streets near Hamilton Road as they walked home from Brighton, a Brookline police report said.
