A recent benefit helped raise more than $450,000 for young patients at Franciscan Hospital for Children in Brighton.

More than 500 people attended the hospital’s annual Community Leadership Award Dinner at the Seaport Hotel in Boston last month.

The hospital gave its annual community leadership award to Robert K. Sheriden, president and CEO of SBLI. The award honors an individual or corporation “for their outstanding commitment to improving the lives of children and their families in the local community.”

“Sheridan is a tireless worker on behalf of many of Boston’s non-profit organizations including the University of Massachusetts Building Authority, New England Center for Children and the New England Council,” the hospital said in a statement.

Former patient and current Kennedy Day School student, Korey T. Foley, was also honored at the benefit with the Profile in Children’s Courage Award. NECN’s Jim Braude emceed the event.
