A second man faces murder and armed robbery charges for the Nov. 19 fatal shooting of a 26-year-old man in Brighton, authorities said.

Robert Williams, 21, of Brighton, was ordered held without bail at his arraignment in Brighton District Court on Thursday, according to the Suffolk County District Attorney’s office.

Patrick Malone, 21, of Brighton, has been held without bail since he was arraigned on identical charges on Dec. 3, prosecutors said.

The two men are accused of shooting Leroy Cooper, 26, of Brewster, officials said.

On Nov. 19 at about 5:30 p.m., police found Cooper suffering from a gunshot wound near 114 Leicester St. He was taken to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead.

Cooper came to Massachusetts from California to attend college. He studied hospitality when he attended Newbury College in Brookline from 2004 to 2008 and played on the men’s volleyball team, college officials told the Globe previously.

Williams is scheduled to return to court on Feb. 4, prosecutors said. Malone is scheduled to return to court on Jan. 4.

Authorities said they are continuing to investigate the incident, including a motive for the murder, and ask anyone with information to call the homicide unit at 617-343-4470. Information can be provided anonymously by calling the CrimeStoppers Tip Line, at 800-494-8477 or text the word ‘TIP’ to CRIME (27463).
