The Dropkick Murphys performed a special holiday-themed concert Thursday afternoon for young patients at the Franciscan Hospital for Children in Brighton.

The Boston band also delivered toys and presented a $10,000 check from The Claddagh Fund to benefit the hospital’s music therapy program, officials at the medical facility said.

The fund founded by the musical group’s front man Ken Casey, supports nonprofits that aim to improve the lives of disadvantaged individuals, including organizations that support children.

The group’s performance included a song they released this month, “The Season’s Upon Us,” hospital officials said.
