A new Chinese restaurant plans to open this summer on Commonwealth Avenue in Allston.

The Shanghai Social Club expects to open in July at 1277 Commonwealth Ave., according to the eatery’s Facebook page and website.

An entity owned by local business owner Douglas F. Bacon agreed to a 10-year lease for the 5,850-square-foot commercial property in July 2011, state land records show. Bacon owns several area bars and restaurants, including the Avenue, White Horse Tavern, Harry’s Bar and Grill, and the Last Drop.

The spot at 1277 Comm. Ave. was formerly home to the Mexican restaurant Jalapenos, which closed two years ago after being open for only several months. Before Jalapenos, the location was pub Our House West.
