The 30th annual Allston-Brighton Parade is scheduled to be held on Sunday, Sept. 22.

The celebration will depart from Packard’s Corner at 1 p.m. before ending about two miles away in Oak Square.

The event often draws a host of local residents as well as local politicians and candidates for elected office.

This year’s parade will fall two days before the Sept. 24 preliminary municipal election in Boston, which includes the mayoral race and City Council races.

The 22nd will be a busy day in the Allston and Brighton neighborhoods. The annual Allston Village Street Fair festival and the annual Brian J. Honan 5K Road Race are also scheduled for that afternoon.
