The privately produced Arlington Town Planner Calendar, which is sometimes mistaken as a product of the town, will not be published for the 2011 calendar year.
The free calendar is typically mailed to Arlington residents every December, and town officials said they have already received calls from people complaining that they did not receive a copy.
But businessman Murray Winer, who has been publishing the Town Planner Calendar for Arlington for more than a decade, said the calendar and its distribution have nothing to do with the town.
Winer’s company, Town Planner of Middlesex, puts out calendars for Arlington and several other communities and he sells advertising space in the calendars.
But he said said health problems have prevented him from putting out a 2011 calendar for Arlington.
“I’m getting a lot of heat for it,” said Winer, who lives in Danvers. “I apologize to everyone. I just couldn’t get it out.”
The calendar, which includes government phone numbers as well as trash and recycling dates, will resume publication next year, Winer said.
Winer said he has received phone calls from people asking about a 2011 calendar. Arlington Department of Public Works employee Greg Moulton said people have also been calling the town asking why they haven't received a copy.
