A half-size replica of the Vietnam Veterans Memorial in Washington D.C. will travel to Arlington to go on display this April.

Arlington’s Moving Wall Committee announced Wednesday that the town has been selected to host the “Vietnam Veterans Memorial Moving Wall” on April 14 at 5 p.m. through the morning of Patriots’ Day on April 18.

The moving wall will be placed at the back of Arlington High School at 869 Massachusetts Ave. and the town is seeking donations to cover the cost of bringing it to the town.

In a press release Wednesday the committee said it wants to honor those who made the ultimate sacrifice in the war in Vietnam, as well as the surviving veterans. The moving wall will provide those who have never had the chance to visit the memorial in Washington D.C. to see the names of the fallen soldiers inscribed on the wall.

Anyone wishing to help cover the cost of bringing the wall to Arlington can contribute online at www.arlingtonma.gov/veterans, or by sending a check made out to the Town of Arlington/Moving Wall, 730 Massachusetts Ave., Arlington, MA, 02476.
