Kids will race down Eastern Avenue in Arlington this weekend in the 5th Annual Arlington Soapbox Derby.

The races started by Arlington resident Cary Conrad will be held Saturday, June 1, next to the Robbins Farm Park from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Kids ages 7 to 17 years old will be racing down Eastern Avenue from Park Circle towards Highland Avenue in the gravity-powered soap box cars. The races are divided into three divisions of stock, super stock and masters and the winners of each division will represent Eastern New England in the 76th All-American Soap Box Derby in Akron, Ohio, in July.

Eastern Avenue will be closed Saturday between Park Circle and Highland Avenue from 7 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. and Arlington Police will be on site to manage traffic.

More information about the races can be found online here.
