Voters in Ashland will head to the polls Tuesday for the Town Election, and decide whether the town's recently dismissed police chief ought have a spot on the board of selectmen.

Police Chief Scott C. Rohmer is on administrative leave, and his contract that expires in June won't be renewed by the new Town Manager Anthony Schiavi. Rohmer then decided to run for one of two open seats on the board, along with incumbent Joseph J. Magnani, and school board member Mark D. Juitt. The three are running for two seats.

In other contested races, Gina A. Donovan, Adam J. Elbirt, and Mark Bennett Larson are running for two seats on the school board. Vanessa Allison Charles and Michael J. Mokey are running for one planning board seat.

The following are running unopposed: Adam B. Shuster, moderator; Paul D. Monaco, assessor; Mary F. Mortensen, board of health; Debra A. Carlson, housing authority.
