Read Boston's Storymobile summer program is drawing to a close after two months of providing storytelling events and free books for children around the city.

The program will wrap up with a week of special events at places like Spectacle Island, Boston College, and Fenway Park. On Thursday, the Storymobile will come to TadPole playground at the Boston Common.

Kids between ages 3 and 11 will be treated to a story and a free book. The event will take place between 11 a.m. and noon.

Read Boston, an initiative founded by Mayor Thomas M. Menino in 1995, addresses low literacy levels among Boston's youth. The program's mission is to have "children in Boston reading on grade level by the time they complete third grade."
