Copley Square to celebrate holiday tree lighting Tuesday
Copley Square is set to be alight with holiday cheer as Back Bay residents and some special guests ring in the season with the annual lighting of the Copley Square Holiday Tree on Tuesday.
Santa Claus and Rudolph will be at the tree lighting, scheduled for Nov. 29 from 5 to 6 p.m., along with the Bear from Boston Ballet’s “The Nutcracker” and Back Bay resident and WHDH-TV anchor Janet Wu.
The Trinity Church Choristers and the Boston Children’s Chorus will perform, and revelers themselves will have a chance to belt out holiday tunes as part of sing-along.
The evening’s festivities will be capped off with the lighting of the tree as the Old South Church bells ring.
Families chilly and hungry from the celebration will be invited to a reception with light refreshments at the Fairmont Copley Plaza.
