MIXFest returns to Hatch Shell with Train, Gavin DeGraw
Boston’s annual MIXFest concert is set to return to the Charles River Esplanade next month with performances by the Grammy-winning band Train, singer-songwriter Gavin DeGraw, and Andy Grammer.
The free concert, presented by radio station MIX 104.1, will kick off at 4 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 8, at the Hatch Shell.
After hosting the 2010 show at the Bank Of America Pavilion, the radio station decided to make last year’s concert free and brought the music festival to the Esplanade’s Hatch Shell as a way to return to the concert’s roots and thank listeners.
MIXFest originally began as a free music event on Boston Common 19 years ago.
This year’s show is sponsored by Dunkin’ Donuts, Boston Children’s Hospital, Boston.com, Fuze Beverages, Regina Pizzeria, Darque Tan, Olivia’s Organics, Polar Beverages, ZipCar, 9-89 on Demand Beverages, Simply Naked Wine, The Princeton Review, The Colonnade Hotel, The Revere Hotel, and Premiere Limo.
